Description

"The mule hanes is what we had to plow the mule with, to hold the tongue of the wagon up so you could guide it. This is the wife had to get up and cook the meals to feed us where we could go to the fields. The feet let you know we had to get them up and put them down, so I turn them bottom side up. This is how we make our bread." —Rev. George Kornegay
