Description

Created as the companion to Coming Out of Darkness, Looking for the Light, this piece honors the Native American, represented in a profile image inspired by the "Indian head" or "buffalo" nickel of Dial's youth. Clusters of birds and disguised forms of tigers identify the common reach for freedom that Native Americans share with African Americans.
