Description

Made when she was a teenager, this quilt intermixes octagons and diamonds in a pattern sometimes known as "Snowball" but called "Bow Tie" by Benning. The quilt typifies a category of Gee's Bend quilts, suggestive of op art, that were produced in the middle of the twentieth century and earlier.
