Description:

"I was trying to do the best I could do. I had a fence that closed around me, the ignorance of my neighbors who didn't understand.

"I was trying to do the best I could do. I had a fence that closed around me, the ignorance of my neighbors who didn't understand. Then, beyond that, society was putting up its own barrier, so when I saw past the first fence there was another one. I was trying to work for the honor of the Olympics, but nobody cared." —Lonnie Holley
