This piece resulted from Murray’s being supplied with an expanded range of colors (including purple, orange, brown, and green). He produced a remarkable landscape with a variety of trees and flora, a Murray “Garden of Eden,” with good and bad, original sin and spirituality, the presence of God, man, and the Devil: the world as Murray experienced it.
